Born in Hampton, Middlesex in 1935, brought up in Chelsea, I attended Chelsea School of Art 1951-56 on scholarships, studying Fine Art, Sculpture, Lettering, Printmaking and Graphic Art, majoring in Fine Art.
On leaving, I worked at the Design Centre, Haymarket, and was a member of the F.H.K Henrion group of designers. I then branched out on my own making silver jewellery, and have been self-employed ever since, exhibiting and selling paintings. In the 1970s, I studied ceramics and ran a shop in Putney, South-West London, selling my paintings and pots.
I moved to Norfolk in early 1981. For five years in the 1990s, I was commissioned to paint seventeen murals of jazz musicians in Boswell’s Restaurant, Tombland, Norwich. During that time, I painted and sold thirty eight large portraits in oils of jazz musicians. I also teach oils and watercolour painting.
